Here are the steps you have to go through to get ready to sell at the markets in Australia. Please note these are only a suggestion, regulations are subject to change.
SETTING UP
1. APPLY FOR INSURANCE
All hot food stallholders must have in place their own public and product liability policy providing a minimum of $10 million cover. All other stallholders must have in place a public liability policy providing a minimum of $5 million cover.

A food notify number/food business registration will be required when applying to sell at markets

6. BUSINESS NAME REGISTRATION
Legally as a business you’re required to register your business name.

7. USI NUMBER
The USI is a reference number made up of ten numbers and letters that: creates a secure online record of your recognised training and qualifications gained in Australia, from all training providers you undertake recognised training with. If you have completed your food safety course there will be a number connected to this
